Mark Phillips has been working on performance/load testing with AstLinux and the Soekris net4801. More can be found on his site.

The big plan is to work together with Mark to determine which Asterisk/AstLinux tweaks can be made to have the absolute best performance on any platform - not just the Soekris net4801. AstLinux and the Soekris net4801 make for a good testing platform because of their consistency. Also, the relatively small capabilities of the Soekris allow for easier tweaking - when you only have 266mhz of processing power the effects of tweaks like compiler optimizations, patches, etc are easier to notice!
