AstLinux

AstLinux is a "Network and Communications Appliance" open source software distribution. Unified communications including voice, presence and messaging, provided by Asterisk (SIP, DAHDI) and Prosody (XMPP). AstLinux's framework allows integrators and developers to deploy solutions that may be remotely monitored, supported and upgraded using an optimized 40 MB image.

AstLinux provides networking features including:

• IPv4 / IPv6 Router and Stateful Filtering Firewall (Arno's IPTABLES Firewall)
• VPN Support: OpenVPN IPSec VPN and PPTP
• Traffic Shaping using QoS markings and custom port classification
• SMTP Email alerts and notifications (msmtp)
• Caching DNS Server and Forwarder (dnsmasq)

The following telephony hardware cards are supported via DAHDI:
