AstLinux

AstLinux is a custom Linux distribution centered around Asterisk, the Open Source PBX. Although Asterisk remains the core focus, other VoIP applications such as FreeSWITCH are also available. AstLinux has many unique features that make it ideal for embedded and commerical Asterisk based solutions.

AstLinux contains powerful networking features including:

• Arno's IPTABLES Firewall
• IPv4 and IPv6 routing and filtering
• Traffic Shaping using QoS markings
• VPN Support: IPSec, OpenVPN and PPTP
• Caching DNS Support (dnsmasq)

• Soekris Engineering net5501
• VIA C3 and C7 based systems
• VMware x86 Virtualization - 2.6.x Linux

The following telephony hardware cards are supported via DAHDI:

• DAHDI compatible hardware (without extra drivers) like HFC cards
